Detailed Description

Overview: the GD-210 is a dedicated instrument for measuring the grounding resistance of earth grids and the grounding continuity between grid points. It adopts a variable-frequency AC supply and a microcomputer-controlled measurement and signal-processing scheme, which solves the anti-interference problem, simplifies the test procedure and greatly reduces labour intensity and testing cost.

Measurement capability: the instrument measures grounding impedance and grounding resistance simultaneously, giving a truer picture of the actual characteristics of the earth grid. It can also measure the current stake, the voltage stake, ground-grid impedance, grounding resistance, grounding continuity and soil resistivity.

Accuracy: the basic error is only 0.005Ω, which allows it to measure very large earth grids with very low grounding impedance. The measurement range is 0-500Ω (including current-stake impedance) with a resolution of 0.001mΩ.

Safety: the instrument is fitted with grounding protection, current-limiting and voltage-limiting protection, and audible and visual alarms to keep both the operator and the equipment safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the GD-210 Large Ground-Grid Resistance Tester used for?
It measures the grounding resistance of large earth grids and the grounding continuity between grounding points. Unlike the traditional power-frequency high-current three-pole method, it uses a variable-frequency AC source and does not need a test current of 30 A or more, so the test equipment stays light and the whole process is much simpler.
What makes it accurate in a live substation?
The instrument uses a variable-frequency (different-frequency) measurement method combined with modern hardware and software filtering. The test current waveform is a sine wave whose frequency is close to power frequency, and it withstands up to 10 V of 50 Hz voltage interference, so readings stay stable and reliable even in strong-interference environments.
How do I get a quotation?
Email your grid size, required range and site conditions to bowen@harchin.com. The instrument is manufactured in our Nanjing facility, so we quote directly from the factory. Pricing depends on configuration, so please send your specification rather than asking for a list price.
