Detailed Description

Overview: the FA-103 volt-ampere characteristic tester is a dedicated instrument used in the relay protection and high-voltage insulation disciplines to test current transformers and voltage transformers. Product aliases are the CT/PT volt-ampere characteristic comprehensive tester, the CT volt-ampere characteristic tester, the volt-ampere characteristic ratio and polarity comprehensive tester, the volt-ampere characteristic tester, the volt-ampere characteristic comprehensive tester and the FA-103 volt-ampere characteristic tester.

Performance: the instrument recognises 380 V AC and 220 V AC supplies automatically. You only have to set the test voltage, current and step digitally, and the device steps up from zero automatically, plotting the volt-ampere characteristic curve and the 5% or 10% error curve completely automatically. This eliminates manual voltage regulation, manual recording, collation and curve plotting, so the work is fast, simple and convenient, and no special training is needed. The instrument is light in weight and convenient to carry and operate, and its performance is excellent. Compared with the traditional test workload it saves 80% of the work and greatly improves efficiency and safety.

An optional external booster is available and reaches 2500 V at 3 A, which covers the volt-ampere characteristic measurement of current transformers with a relatively large current capacity. Ratio and polarity tests on current transformers can be carried out without a current booster, and ratios up to 25000 A/5 A (5000 A/1 A) are achievable. The 320 x 240 large full LCD presents an all-Chinese graphical interface, and every operation has a detailed Chinese menu and annotation, making it intuitive and convenient. The volt-ampere curve is displayed directly during the test, and the graph is clear and legible. A printer is built into the panel, and any measurement parameter can be saved and any measurement result printed.

Current transformer tests: DC resistance measurement of the current transformer; volt-ampere characteristic testing of the current transformer protection winding; current ratio testing of the current transformer; polarity determination of the current transformer; the 5% or 10% error curve of the current transformer; AC withstand voltage testing of the current transformer secondary winding; and measurement of the actual secondary burden of the current transformer.

Voltage transformer tests: voltage ratio testing of the voltage transformer; polarity determination of the voltage transformer; no-load error and excitation characteristic testing of the voltage transformer; measurement of the actual burden of the voltage transformer; and AC withstand voltage testing of the voltage transformer secondary winding.

Technical parameters with a 220 V input: the device main unit outputs 0 to 550 V and 0 to 20 A at an accuracy better than 0.5 class; the external booster outputs 0 to 2500 V and 0 to 1.5 A at an accuracy better than 0.5 class; the external voltage regulator outputs 0 to 30 A; and the ratio measurement accuracy is better than 1. With a 380 V input: the device main unit outputs 0 to 950 V and 0 to 20 A; the external booster outputs 0 to 2500 V and 0 to 1.5 A at an accuracy better than 0.5 class; the ratio measurement range is 5 A/5 A to 5000 A/5 A and 5 A/1 A to 5000 A/1 A. The working ambient temperature is -10 ℃ to +50 ℃ and the measurement supply is AC 220 V or AC 380 V. The instrument measures 460 mm x 350 mm x 450 mm and weighs 35 kg.
