Detailed Description

Overview: on site, and without any external power supply (neither 220 V nor 380 V) or any auxiliary equipment, the instrument measures the capacity and load loss of 30 kVA to 63000 kVA power transformers.

Key features: it accurately measures the capacity of all types of distribution transformer, using passive measurement that is convenient and accurate. It measures no-load current, no-load loss, short-circuit voltage, short-circuit loss and zero-sequence impedance of various transformer types. Waveform distortion correction, temperature correction, voltage correction (for no-load tests at other than rated voltage) and current correction (for short-circuit tests at other than rated current) are performed automatically; the operator only enters the correction index for the transformer type and the instrument calculates the corrected result, which is well suited to organisations without the facilities for short-circuit tests on larger transformers. External voltage and current transformers can be connected to extend the measuring range, so test objects with any parameters can be measured.

The voltage circuit is wide-limit: voltage can be measured up to 750 V with no range switching and no loss of accuracy, so a wrongly selected voltage range cannot damage the instrument. The large, high-brightness LCD with full Chinese menus and operating prompts provides a friendly operator dialogue; touch keys simplify operation and the wide-temperature LCD with brightness adjustment suits both winter and summer use. Results can be printed out at any time on the micro printer.

Insulation: the insulation resistance between the voltage and current input terminals and the case is ≥100 MΩ, and the working supply input terminal withstands power-frequency 2 kV (RMS) against the case for 1 minute.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the GD-400A Transformer Capacity & No-Load Loss Tester used for?
On site, and without any external power supply (neither 220 V nor 380 V) or auxiliary equipment, it measures the capacity and load loss of 30 kVA to 63000 kVA power transformers. It also measures no-load current, no-load loss, short-circuit voltage, short-circuit loss and zero-sequence impedance of various transformer types.
What corrections does the instrument apply automatically?
It automatically applies waveform distortion correction, temperature correction, voltage correction (for no-load tests at other than rated voltage) and current correction (for short-circuit tests at other than rated current). The operator only needs to enter the correction index for the transformer type and the instrument calculates the corrected result automatically, which suits organisations that have no facility for short-circuit tests on larger transformers.
How do I get a quotation?
Email the transformer capacity range you need to cover and the quantity to bowen@harchin.com. Instruments are manufactured in Nanjing and quoted directly from the factory against your configuration.
